Zachary has been writing — mostly for pleasure — ever since he was an angsty tween in his parents' basement. He received his shot at editing for the publication House Digest, where he put his love for research to use editing articles on gardening, houseplant care, and landscape design. As managing editor, he seeks to ensure Garden Guides' articles are accessible and fun to read for gardeners of all skill levels and interests. You can find Zachary tending to his Thai holy basil plants in his kitchen herb garden — a must-have for his beloved Phat kaphrao.

Zachary graduated from James Madison University with a bachelor's degree in English and a minor in Asian studies.
